Sunset In June

It has been so hot, dry and windy here. We haven't had any substantial moisture since around August of last year. The grass is so dry that it crumbles under foot... on the up side, we have really great sunsets!

This Afternoon!

Nickleback is one of my favorite artists, and I love piano music.  So how about we combine the two?  This Afternoon is a light hearted upbeat song that makes me think of summer time.  :)

Photo Strip

Do you remember the photo booths in the mall? I remember using one with my mother back when I was young. Actually, I am not sure if I remember using it, but I have seen the pictures that we ended up with. They were so fun and crazy.

I found a fun template and wanted to use it to replicate the look. Of course, my son got to be my guinea pig. :D

Springtime

Photos of a plum tree in my yard.  I used a "Nifty Fifty" for these shots.  I have heard of taking the lens off the camera and putting it on backwards.  This causes a magnification effect, maybe like a poor man's macro lens...  Anyway, I gave it a try on the close up of the single blossom, and the bud.  It is rather pretty, in my opinion.  :)

Now to decide which to print!  Which do you prefer?

Shot Again

My poor son is going to be eternally damaged because of the number of pictures that I take of him! :D

Jump Starting creativity

Watercolor by Images by Kelly Rose

I feel like I have hit a bit of a slump in the creative arena, so yesterday, I browsed around for a fun idea to try. I ran across this watercolor, grungy sort of look. I went through the pictures of people that I had and settled on this young lady to try the look with. I thought it would work well with her as she is artistic, and playful!

Beauty in My Backyard

Today was a truly beautiful day. So warm and spring-like. I went out and did some raking and picking up. It is crazy how many bits of paper and other debris can accumulate over the winter. I have a stack of old lumber and branches that needs to be hauled off. I knocked down and burned tumbleweeds and other dead plants.

While doing all this cleanup, I came across a dead plant that was really kind of pretty. I believe it had been a wild sunflower. Anyway, I clipped off the dead flower heads and photographed them. Then with the help of a texture, a few layers, and a really great Photoshop action, this is what I came up with.
